Are weighted sleep sacks for babies safe?

When can you start using a weighted sleep sack?
Our gently weighted sleep sacks are designed for newborns through toddlerhood. Once your baby starts rolling over or is breaking free of the swaddle, it's time introduce the sleep sack. What does a weighted sleep sack do?
Sleep sacks help regulate your infant's body temperature, which keeps them from being too cold or too hot and makes their sleep just right! A sleep sack also eliminates the need for extra blankets, which helps keep your baby's sleep-space safe. A weighted sleep sack goes one step further by applying gentle pressure that helps your baby feel calm, fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. Can a baby sleep on its stomach with a weighted sleep sack?
Yes! The evenly distributed weight is not intended to restrict your baby's movement. Also, our weighted sleep sacks are reversible. So, if your baby is a tummy sleeper, you can simply put the sleep sack on backward, so they still benefit from the gentle weight. Learn more about stomach sleep safety here!

How should a sleep sack fit?
You'll want to size your sleep sack based on your baby's weight and height. For safety reasons, you should never size up. Our products fit true to size, and we do not recommend using the weighted sleep sack until your baby has met the minimum weight requirements. Learn more about sleep sack sizing and fit here!
Are weighted sleep sacks worth it?

What should a baby wear under a sleep sack?
Your baby can wear clothes under the sleep sack. However, it is not absolutely necessary. Many parents use a onesie or lightweight pajama, but it depends on the temperature in the room. To avoid the risk of SIDS, you never want a baby to overheat while sleeping. Our weighted sacks have a 1.0 TOG so that your baby can comfortably wear them year-round. Our 3 month old slept through the night last night, the first night sleeping in this! She had taken naps in it before but I finally decided to switch from Ollie swaddle to this swaddle keeping her arms down. I was SO happy and I legit don’t write reviews but had to write one. I am a big fan!

We purchased the dreamland swaddle after a couple of hard weeks with our newborn. We tried MULTIPLE swaddles and nothing helped our little girl. However, after purchasing the swaddle she slept better than any previous nights. After a couple of nights she was sleeping the longer stretches over night and her day time naps. We got to enjoy her wake windows more because she wasn’t fussy. We quickly purchased a second one because newborns have alot of accidents. I even purchased the swaddle for my good friend who was expecting. As of now, we have transitioned out of swaddle and she sleeps overnight with sleep sack weighted! I’m really fortunate for this product!

We borrowed a friends Dreamland Sleep Swaddle and after one night, I knew I had to get one! I ended up buying 2 the next week. My 12 week old was having 3-4 wake ups a night and would have a hard time settling after each wake up. Our first night, she slept TWELVE hours with only 1 wake up! Now she averages 10-12 hours with 1 wake up every. Single. Night. It has seriously changed the game! Not to mention, it’s super soft and comes in beautiful colors! Dreamland will definitely be a staple brand for us, we are ordering some of the jammies next and we can’t wait!!
