What types of sleep sacks does Dreamland offer?

Shop our sleep sacks by types, including:

Weighted Sleep Sack

Our 100% natural cotton Dream Weighted Sleep Sack features weighted bead filling, also known as our CoverCalm Technology®, that will keep your baby calm and comfortable so they can get that much-needed sleep. Our ultra soft and breathable cotton helps to regulate baby’s temperature and is perfect for 68-73°F or 21-23°C.

2.5 TOG Sleep Sack

Ideal for Winter months, our 2.5 TOG Dream Weighted Sleep Sack is made with the same 100% natural cotton and CoverCalm Technology® as our Dream Weighted Sleep Sack, but it’s thicker. The weight of our 2.5 TOG sleep sack is perfect for 61 to 68 °F or 16 to 20 °C.

Bamboo Sleep Sack

Your baby will feel like they’re sleeping on a cloud in their Bamboo Weighted Sleep Sack. Our CoverCalm® Technology meets eco-friendly Standard 100 Oeko-Tex® viscose from bamboo for an indescribable softness. With the seal of a Standard 100 Oeko-Tex® fabric, you know that there are no harmful substances near your baby’s skin, ever. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial, breathable, and hypoallergenic, which means our proprietary LuxeWeave™ fabric is ideal for even the most sensitive skin. This sleep sack is a 1.0 TOG, perfect for 68-73°F or 21-23°C

Non-Weighted Sleep Sack

Made with the same viscose from bamboo custom-milled LuxeWeave™ fabric as our weighted bamboo sleep sack, the buttery soft material used for our Bamboo Classic Sleep Sack (Non-weighted) is gentle on your baby’s delicate skin. All the benefits of our other sleep sacks, without the weighted beads. The intricate diamond pattern elevates the look of this already luxurious sleep sack. This sleep sack is a 1.0 TOG, perfect for 68-73°F or 21-23°C.

Some things our sleep sacks have in common:

There are some similarities our sleep sacks share regardless of their intended use or design.

Safety: On every one of our product pages you’ll notice we highlight specific safety details, because well we have thought about safety for every product. All of our products are designed in collaboration with pediatricians, NICU nurses, and certified sleep consultants. To take safety one step farther, our weighted sleep products are reviewed by pediatric pulmonologist for breathing safety. Plus our inner beads are non-tox and BPA free. Your baby’s safety is just as important to us as it is to you. Learn more about safety at Dreamland.

Breathable, comfortable design: Made with breathable, buttery soft materials, our sleep sacks are made to calm your baby. In effort to keep the calming effect present, parents can easily get those diaper changes done with our two-way zippers. We’ve also cut the tag, so you don’t have to.

Top choice for parents: Because  we recognize that every body is different, and that’s part of the beauty of life, we offer a variety of products. With safety and comfortability at the forefront, our products are a top choice for parents because they know they can count on us.

How do I choose a sleep sack?

When choosing a sleep sack, here are 3 key features to consider:

Temperature: According to the AAP, overheating can contribute to risk factors involved with SIDS deaths. Because it is important to dress your baby according to the ambient temperature of their sleep space, you should keep in mind the season your baby will be wearing a certain size when choosing a sleep sack.

Fabric: If your baby has eczema or other similar skin sensitivities, bamboo may be a safer option to wrap around their delicate skin.

How you dress your baby under their sleep sack: For similar reasons, you should also consider how you normally dress your baby for sleep. For a lightweight, breathable option that is great underneath any sleep sack, try our Bamboo Pajamas

When should babies start wearing sleep sacks?

Your baby can start wearing a sleep sack from the moment they come home from the hospital, as long as they meet the proper size and weight limits. With your baby being fresh out of the womb, they can have an extra appreciation (that you can notice even without words) for sleek sacks and other products that help mimic the womb.

When should babies stop wearing sleep sacks?

Determining when your baby should stop wearing a sleep sack is a personal journey that is more about size, then it is about age. Our largest sized sleep sacks are designed for toddlers up to 36 months of age. By then, if your child is done with their sleep sack, they can safely transition to our Dream Weighted Sleep Blanket for Kids & Toddlers Ages 3+ and/or 30+ lbs.

What TOG rating is best for sleep sacks?

If you’re not familiar, TOG stands for thermal overall grade. This industry standard measurement essentially describes how warm a fabric will be. To know what TOG rating is best for sleep sacks, you’ll have to consider a couple things. Especially as the seasons change, it’s important to think about what TOG rating your baby should be sleeping in. If you keep your central air set to a certain temperature year-round, this does not apply to you, and your baby should always wear the same TOG sleep sack. Here is what to expect from both TOG values we offer:

1.0: A 1.0 TOG sleep sack is mid-light weight and can be worn in warm weather. A 1.0 TOG sleep sack (in either cotton or bamboo) can be worn over a diaper on the warmest nights, or any other pajamas as temperatures allow.

2.5: A 2.5 TOG sleep sack is a mid-heavy weight and should be reserved for cold weather sleeping. A 2.5 TOG sleep sack can be worn over a long sleeve onesie or whatever pajamas are most appropriate for the ambient temperatures.

What size of sleep sack should I get?

No matter what TOG rating you choose, the size of your baby’s sleep sack is important because you don’t want it to be too small, or too large. Sleep sacks sized too large could mean it’s too loose which could be a risk for suffocation. Too small means too tight which translates to uncomfortable. If you can pull the neck of the sleep sack up over your baby's chin and it immediately falls back down, the sleep sack is likely sized correctly.

If you’re unsure about sizing, be sure to take our size quiz, we’ll be sure to find the sleep solution that’s right for your baby.

When it comes to sleep solutions, Dreamland has a sleep sack for every baby, in any season. Much more than sleep sacks, we also carry Swaddles, Transition Swaddles, crib sheets, and pajamas.

In June 2022, the AAP updated its sleep guidelines and is currently not recommending weighted sleep solutions. You can read the full report here. Please note that this is not a recall. Dreamland Baby is in ongoing dialogue with the AAP regarding its stance on weighted sleepwear and hopes it will result in the statement being retracted.
