Dreamland Baby Supports Non-Profit, First Candle, with Its Limited Edition Rainbow Print Weighted Sleep Sack
Dreamland Baby Will Donate a Portion of Every Sale to Help End Sudden Unexpected Infant Death and Support Bereaved Parents
DANVILLE, CA - JUNE 1, 2021 - Dreamland Baby, creators of the world’s first fully weighted wearable blanket for babies, today announced that it is dedicated to supporting First Candle, a non-profit organization working to end Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID) as well as support to families who have experienced the loss of a baby. Dreamland Baby has created a unique rainbow print, symbolic of the baby that is born after a loss, and will donate a portion of proceeds to the organization.
“As a mother of four, I cannot imagine the profound and intense pain that parents must experience after losing a child,” said Tara Williams, Founder and CEO, Dreamland Baby. “We are proud to be donating to this amazing organization and to help bereaved parents in some small way.”
Creating a safe sleep environment is key to reducing the risk of SIDS. AAP Safe Sleep Environment Recommendations include:
- Ensuring babies sleep on their backs
- Using a firm sleep surface
- Breastfeeding (recommended)
- Room share without bed sharing
- Keeping pillows, blankets and soft objects away from the infant’s sleep area
- Offering a pacifier at nap time and bedtime
- Avoiding overheating and head covering in infants
Dreamland Baby’s weighted wearable sleep sacks provide parents with a safe solution to help baby feel calm, fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. The gentle weight naturally reduces stress and increases relaxation through deep-pressure stimulation to give baby feelings of security and comfort. Designed in collaboration with pediatricians, NICU nurses and Certified Sleep Consultants, Dreamland Baby’s wearable weighted sleep sacks come in three sizes: 0-6 months, 6-12 months, and 12-24 months.
Alison Jacobson, CEO First Candle said: “Sudden Unexpected Infant Death is, in many cases, a preventable tragedy. By creating a safe sleep environment for every nap time and bedtime we know that countless numbers of babies’ lives can be saved. We are so grateful to Dreamland Baby for their dedication to this important cause and for their support so that we can continue to educate as many families as possible about the importance of safe sleep.”
